Happy -1 Year Wedding Anniversary!

The wedding will take place one year from today! (Here's a screen shot from my Google doc) I know it's a year away... but it feels like there really is no more time for dilly dallying. There's still a lot of things to be done! Here's an update on what we've been up to lately. By the way, I have some more screen caps. Yay visual aids!

Catering
We're supposed to have a meeting this Sunday with Karl of Two Chefs and a Table. Unfortunately, the appointment is currently not confirmed yet. We're also waiting for a sample quote from Diva... but still no emails :( In the meantime, I created a spreadsheet to help visualize catering total costs. Usually when caterers quote, the price is given per head. In addition to the food, there may be other costs: equipment rentals, labour, linens, etc. Here's a screen shot of the spreadsheet:

If anyone is interested in having a copy of the spreadsheet template, just let me know. So, as you can see, catering costs can really be a lot :(

Invitations
D and I have been browsing various invitations websites to figure out what kind of invitation we'd like. Here's a list of sites that have pretty invitations:
I've been making some invitation mockups using Photoshop and free brushes from Brusheezy and fonts from Fontica. Here are a couple of samples:

bridesmaid A should know where I borrowed this font styling from :)

What do you guys think? Any font suggestions?

  1. If you call it "bees" one more time, you can't sit at the singles table anymore :P

  3. HEEEHEE! At first glance, I like the first font better because it's more elegant overall. The second version is too... upright? Try italicizing the "ernice" and "angayan" etc. OR using a different font (for the lower case letters) that isn't so straight. I think it would be good to have a contrast between your names and the rest of the info, so since the century gothic (?) is straight, slant your names. YES that's it!!!! The first one is aesthetically pleasing because the names are slanted, distinguishing them from the rest of the invite.

I like the muted yellow in the first invite.

I like the ovals as opposed to the flowers. Flowers make the second invite too cutesy.

Yes, the first invite is more elegant. The second one more cutesy.

HAPPY MINUS ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! GO BANGCHANG! I MEAN CHANGBANG.

  4. Awesome dree! I will make another mockup that implements your suggestions and see how it goes :) Depending on when I get to it, I may post it in the next entry.

See, I really liked what you did with our yearbook! Now I just have to incorporate the 3 tilted squares on the side in the invitation... maybe in one of the inserts :P

Maybe instead of being Mrs. Bernice Chang or Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Chang next year, we should change it to Mrs. Bernice Changbang or Mr. and Mrs. Changbang. HAHA. I think it'll become increasingly difficult to look for a job after that. Hehe.
